About Aer Beatha

"Aer Beatha" is Irish Gaelic. "Aer" means air, "beatha" means life, so "aer beatha" translates to "air of life". Aer Beatha is an Anglo-Swedish company with offices in London (UK) and Lerum (Sweden). Founded in 2015 and funded by healthcare professionals with a focus on patients and the environment, Aer Beatha has a portfolio of device patents.

Aer8® Spacer

Spacers help to reduce the problems with metered dose inhalers because they remove the need to co-ordinate inhaler actuation with drug inhalation. Spacers, including small volume spacers, are bulky, not very portable and need to be cleaned so patients tend not to use them. Most are made from hard plastics, are not collapsible or recyclable and have to be incinerated for disposal. The Aer8 spacer is large volume but is easily portable as it can be popped down to collapse between uses. It is non-plastic, biodegradable and environmentally friendly.

Aer8® Valve

The Aer8® Valve spray technology enables the use of liquid carbon dioxide as an aerosol propellant. The aerosol spray production process is simplified. Products have a long shelf life and there are no leaking cans. Solving the pressure drop problem of compressed gas aerosol technology, the Aer8® valve technology has spray performance equalling that of current VOC-based aerosols.
